They should come back cause sports is the only thing I’m really good and only shot I have to getting a scholarship.

Kids are participating in sports throughout San Diego and beyond. I know many families who have kids in sports outside of school and I personally feel comfortable with my child participating in sports with her middle school (BVM). They need the mental, physical and social interaction more now than ever.

I am in favor of allowing SUHSD sports teams to start practices.
At the City of Chula Vista, we have successfully allowed organized sports teams to practice during the COVID-19 pandemic since June 2020. I held several working meetings with our city parks leadership, coaches and parents from our organized sports teams. Together in cooperation with coaches and parents we set safety protocols to protect athletes, coaches and spectators. With those protocols, coaches were then able to design skills and drills to allow players to safely practice their sport.
Physical activities are an important part of a student’s physical and mental well-being. I hope that SUHSD can work to find a solution for students to safely practice for the upcoming CIF season. Also, I do not want our students to miss out, while other areas are able to move forward.
I would be pleased to assist in providing SUHSD with the protocols that the City of Chula Vista has implemented, as I want the best for all SUHSD’s students. Thank you.

THIS is why voting is so important in big and small elections. So in addition to signing this petition let’s make sure that all of the politicians listed have 2000 (#petition signers) less votes on Election Day because they are not representing us, their constituents. Who they are representing... by taking such an unsubstantiated stance on the matter... isn’t quite clear to me. Because as another voter stated I never received another asking for my opinion on the matter. And once they saw the other districts reopening why didn’t they reassess? Concerning.
In addition to signing this petition let’s also make our voices heard at the polls.
Open safe sports for our children.
