Hello. My name is Christa Marsh and I am a resident of the Swedesboro/ Woolwich Twp in NJ. I am sure that you all have been seeing our current social and political climate and I would like to ask for your support to encourage the Swedesboro Woolwich community, officials and police department to aid in spreading awareness of injustices affecting African-Americans and to stand for the protection of civil rights of all Americans in our society. I am coming in solidarity to imitate other New Jersey cities like Camden, Newark and West Deptford where they effectively represented standing together (police and citizens) against injustice. The support of the police and township would restore trust of police and spread unity within our community. I am calling for a peaceful march in downtown Swedesboro where we can express injustice and remember those lives lost from it. We would like to keep it peaceful and safe for our community, businesses and all participants. We cannot do that efficiently without the police. We plan to reach out to the Swedesboro businesses to ensure our intentions and allow them to support and prepare any way they see fit. In all this, we will be honoring the pandemic and we can wear mask, gloves and social distance to the best of our ability. I want to start action in our own community to point towards demonstrations of peace and do not condone or tolerate violence in these efforts. We can make this an example to many other cities and towns in New Jersey and across the country! I am calling all Swedesboro Woolwich citizens in agreement with solidarity against injustice to please sign this petition so that I can show the Swedesboro Woolwich Officials and Police Department our unity and call to action! Thank you!

I also feel that the Blue Lives Matter flags should be removed from our Swedesboro street posts in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. Although I am sure the flags were originally well intended in thanks to our police and firemen, during this time many people are using the “Blue Lives Matter” and the black, white and blue flags that represent the statement as a rebuttal against Black Lives Matter and as a guise for racist sentiments. I feel that flying these flags throughout the town at this critical moment is not sending a message of solidarity with those fighting for equality and is inappropriate.

Brave, bold, beautiful, bright girl with a clear message of peace and solidarity. You were my student, and like all of my former students you are loved and treasured as our future generation. Be the change. Use your voice to stand up against injustice and shine your light and kind soul into all that you do. You have my support and I am proud of you. I am very grateful to be a resident of this town and in the protection of the police force here. There are too many unjust departments around the country and justice must be served everywhere.

Change starts within our communities. If we can band together we can really make a difference and set the tone for what swedesboro stands for which is love and equality.

Great movement in our community. Would we consider a showing of support with a parade of cars? It could be an alternative way to increase the safety with COVID precautions and a safer way for children to be involved as well!

I agree and feel the same as a Swedesboro resident. I’m sure the flags weren’t placed there with bad intentions but we need to send a strong message of unity and peace.

Our nation is crying out for reform. Hear our pleas and heed the message. Ignorance and bias can no longer be tolerated. Respect must be earned by giving it.
