Even if they do not allow sweatpants everyday they should have casual fridays where the dress codes for students and/or teachers are less strict.
Technically, it would still be a professional establishment because a number of professional businesses allow casual fridays and students/teachers will be satisfied because they get to wear sweatpants once a week.

Put restrictions on sagging, tightness, or underwear visibility in general, not on the pants themselves. The "professional look" argument is invalid because teachers here at Explore have an even looser dress code than students. And as for most colleges, any apparel goes. Another issue is that students are not allowed to wear a jacket unless it has the Explore logo, and some of the class rooms are freezing. We should be allowed to be comfortable at school, because our professional values are reflected in our high grades and sense of community with the shirt logos, not through what pants/shorts/jackets we wear.

LGBTQA people at this school have all the rights that straight people have here. Therefore your statement is irrelevant. Next time comment something relevant. You're able to show off your butt in jeans. Sweatpants are puffy and don't show very much definition. Obviously they're unprofessional, but so is your irrelevant statement. Thanks for the signature, but please don't try to make the idea of fighting for more freedom through our rights to petition stupid. feel like banning sweatpants is ridiculous and oppressive. Thanks Paige for making such a brilliant petition. Youre probably the same idiot that complained about the school lunches.

I also agree to this and not only that but this is something that our parents should be telling us not a school. I dont think you would like if you had "parents" always around you. If you promote choice the let us where what we want or need. Sometimes you can get burns from wearing jeans while running.

I understand that there are many different styles of jeans, however I prefer sweats, yoga, and athletic pants. I am an athlete and I have long practices on top of school work. Being a goal keeper I have to utilize my entire body and am often sore. I wear sweats because they are comfortable and don't restrict any movement, nor are they tight and not fitting like jeans. I am also a bigger girl. It's hard to find jeans that fit me correctly. I love sweats because they fit my body. I like yoga pants, but I still prefer sweats. I am not trying to "show off" my body or trying to look bigger anywhere, I simply want to be comfortable.
