The College is proposing to build a hotel in order to improve "the livability and quality of [our] community" (The Daily Gazette, "The Swarthmore Inn Project," 20 February 2008). The community impacted by this project includes the hotel's employees. The best way to ensure the livability and quality of their workplace community is to guarantee their right to democratically organize a union if they so choose. As a member of the Swarthmore community, I support the principles of card check neutrality for Swarthmore's hotel workers because it is the best way to ensure a democratic workplace.

Keep it democratic. Dont intimidate the hotel employees just because they want a union.

Fair pay and respect for the staff is the only way this project makes any sense. Do the right thing.

workers deserve a say in their own jobs. this shouldn't even be a debate in a place like swarthmore.

Why is this even a question? Just let them form a union if they want one. It is not rocket science.

YES! Union rights are human rights. Let them organize without any pressure from management.
