Veterans Memorial is an integral part of our community and should not be torn down. I am a Straub Dancer and have been going to Vets Memorial for the past 28 years.

The Vets Memorial has made a profit for the last three years, which is more than you can say about most of the other government buildings down town.

How in the world do you imagine we promote and inspire honor in others by tearing down our memorials to it? Plenty of condos for sale already, fellas. There is more value in the preservation of our society and culture than in your rooms for rent. Beat it...

The Vets Memorial is such named because it represents the men and women who have fought and are fighting now for our American freedoms. This heritage needs to be preserved.

I support this Group's efforts to stop the razing of this perfectly good building.

Great comments team! With the destruction of the ZOO LEVY, voters are showing that Veterans shouldn't be disrespected and that politicians need to quit wasting our tax dollars!

I am a Vietnam Veteran who served 34 months in-country and the treatment the veterans are receiving from the Franklin County Commissioners and our mayor is disgraceful. The politicians are obviously willing to thumb their noses to those who selflessly served this country in favor of the big money developers with the deep pockets and to whose benefit? Obviously their own and not those most deserving.

I think that the decision to tear down Vets Memorial is a travesty-a scheme that will only benefit developers and big business. Veterans need a center that will work for them, not some half-a**ed museum that interacts with kids. Veteran orgs use this facility, as does the Franklin Co. Veterans Commission. Where will they go? As usuall, the veteran is getting it in the butt.
