Farmers and Producers around San Diego are standing by to apply compost, plant cover crops and generally implement climate smart practices known as regenerative agriculture.

The reality is campus retail and food service can't buy from farmers who are already regenerative-organic, but there is a new program that teams up with farmers to transition towards regenerative agriculture. This would help the school move toward carbon neutrality and create many benefits within the community including nutrient dense food, resilience, water conservation and prosperity.

There is a growing movement at the University of San Diego, led by students and key faculty, to give students a new option to improve how their food is grown.

This plan would be optional, and would empower students who care about food & climate to take meaningful, local action by actively removing carbon from the atmosphere and re-storing the emissions as healthy soil on local farms. It would also set a major precedent for campuses across CA and the US!

Let's make some change on our Changemaker Campus!!
