While this shelter is needed it is NOT needed in a neighborhood with two (2) schools already serving the community.

THIS IS NOT A GREAT CHOICE. Placing a homeless shelter near babies is just wrong. Sometimes I fear my safety when I'm at a red light a night and am homeless person is camped out apporchimg my car with child inside. I'm NOT saying homeless people are bad and I do want them to get the help that's needed. But some struggle with drug, alcohol addiction and other addiction that might be very harmful being that close to teenagers & small children

Our African American kids deserves the same respect and safety as middle and first class kids stop discriminating against our kids that's why many of them are so angry

To the mayor and all who seems to think this is okay! We are sick and tired of your quick decisions that affect our kids and the difficulties they must endure to live in peace and harmony. This is not acceptable. Please consider our kids as a priority! They are as any other community, loved and deserve to be safe as possible. Thanking you for you for taking a more serious approach for the homeless! Don't spare the time with our children!

There must be a balance or a different method should be utilized. A shelter could be created that is more inclusive and promotes independence.

the homeless of NOLA need help but to put the safety of our kids at risk by placing this building near school areas is unacceptable.

That is a bad idea it's plenty of places a homeless shelter can be placed not around kids..

Not a safe choice for ALL Parties involved in that General Area. Especially School Kids that are in the path of this Homeless Shelter.

I don't think that's a good idea for a homeless shelter to locate next and around a school... we have to much land elsewhere to build next to a school. Tje children of the community wouldn't feel safe and as a parent I don't feel right. The children shouldn't have to see homeless people who may harass them. Give our children something to look forward to and not something or someone to look down on!!!! Parent of KCCA/BTW

I want help for the homeless...but not next to our kids. We know they don't not utilize the shelter, they are going to hang out around it. Our children should not have to be. Afraid to walk to school...

I agree there are far more convenient areas to place a homeless shelter, You have my vote.

As a teacher I can tell you this is a bad idea. Why dump this on Central City when we have so many issues already. This community is working hard to clean up and you spit on this community and its children with something you would never do to upscale communities.
