The board officially voted to protect the farmland from retail development. I am spent from this fight, but the land is safe for now and that is what matters. We need to stay watchful to ensure they keep their word.
The UNH Planning Board has states they are thinking about developing the land located between the Fairchild Dairy and the UNH Horse Stables for private retail. This will be a huge detriment to the College of Life Science and Agriculture. If you agree that the land should be preserved for Agricultural research and education, please sign your name below. Thank you for your support. If you would like to show additional support for this, please attend one of the planning board meetings on April 17th from 12:40-2:00 in Room 208 in New Hampshire Hall or from 4:00-5:30 in Mub Theater II.
A new meeting has been added for April 24th from 12:40-2:00 in the MUB Strafford room.
One hundred people have signed on to protect this farmland. It feels like a long road ahead and I am exhausted but seeing your names here gives me the resolve to keep pushing.

The days have been long and the opposition is stubborn about turning this field into retail space. We are just a few names away from hitting one hundred signatures and I need you to help me reach that mark today.

Leave the farm alone! My daughter is in the animal science program and she needs those pastures for her classes.

Keep the land green. Developing it is just going to ruin the character of the campus and make it harder for the ag programs to do their thing.

So sad to hear about this. The dairy and stables are such a huge part of what makes our school special please leave it be.

Greedy move by the board. Once that land is gone you can never get it back.

Ridiculous! We need to keep these fields for the students. Why build another store when there are empty spots all over town?
