So having black hair is against school rules ? I AM A BLACK CHILD. I HAVE KINKY CURLY HAIR! If there is a problem with that then you needs not to be teaching in this country point blank. You know how long it took me to embrace the hair on my head ? Yet a BLACK woman who is the principal of a BLACK school in a BLACK country has an issue with BLACK hair?

It's beauty full to see young people embracing their African beauty -- their African selves in a world that tells us that we are not valued! You have my support. Uhuru!

I sign this Petition on behalf of my 15 year old who decided to go natural a year ago. In my house she is told she is beautiful regardless of the hair styles she chooses. I am very proud of her for choosing her own "Natural Hair" !!! Its important that we teach our girls the importance of loving themselves, which includes their skin, size and yes THEIR HAIR!!!! To let them know that they don't have to diet , bleach, or weave out to be beautiful! I don't want to bash the teacher (principal). Hopefully this is not the case and no doubt its probably more to the story that is making it to social media.

It should be illegal to deny a child the right to wear her natural hair. Let's empower them to be confident, educated, and proud to be who they are!

Telling this black girl that her hair the way it grows out of her head is not good enough is telling all of us black girls and women that our hair is not good enough therefore we are not good enough unless we either make it look whiter or hide it under a bun. Self hatred is rampant in our society but for this principal to take her own self hatred and put it on the young women in this school is disgusting and cannot be allowed.

As a life long natural, I support any efforts to pressure the freedom of the minds of those who believe that black Beauty is not Enough beauty.

Your hair is beautiful! It grows like that to compliment your face. Never allow anyone to tell you to be ashamed of your natural beauty.

Something is wrong here!! How could a black woman look down on the youths of this nation and tell them that their natural hair is nasty?? If one doesn't like his/her hair in its natural state that doesn't give that person the right scorn others. Everyone has the right to fix their hair how they please. More power to the puff. I'm black, natural and proud!! My hair is a part of who I am. If you have a problem with the way it looks well stop looking.
