Recently \"detractors\" of President Bush started a on-line petition to oppose SMU being chosen as the site for the Bush Presidential Library because they know this is about to happen. Today(1/18/07) this petition was started to show support for SMU\'s quest to be chosen as the site for the Bush Presidential Library. There are only a handful of Universities in the United States that can claim to have a Presidential Library on campus. SMU is about to become one of these exclusive universities that can boast of having a Presidential Library on campus. Having a Presidential Library on a university campus produces prestige, international name recognition, tourist dollars, development, jobs and educational dialogue within a university. A Presidential Library would not only be an asset for SMU but for Dallas as well.
