Our city\'s dedicated teachers have been without a contract since August 2006. After two failed attempts, the teachers\' contract was finally passed by the Aldermen with an 8-6 vote.
Despite the win, 10 votes are needed to override the spending cap and start implementing the Nashua Teachers\' Union new contract.
Please, sign the contract (FIRST AND LAST NAME) and pass it along to other members of the community. It takes less than a minute to sign, but it can be hugely influential in ultimately deciding the fate of the contract. This is your chance to simply tell the Aldermen and Donnalee Lozeau that you stand behind Nashua\'s teachers! We all need to advocate for the Nashua Teachers\' Union if we want an end to this contract battle once and for all.

Thank you!
To Nashua Aldermen and Mayor Lozeau:
It is your responsibility to do what is best for Nashua. Our city has failed to recognize the importance of supporting and maintaining its teachers, and their hard work has been left unacknowledged and under-compensated. If you feel it is too costly to provide funding for the Nashua teachers\' contract now, can you imagine the colossal price Nashua will have to pay if all of our reputable educators leave Nashua\'s economy and children will suffer more than you seem to realize.
Our teachers are passionate about teaching, but they cannot support their families on passion alone. Without talented teachers, Nashua\'s economy will only grow more unstable. We are urging you to provide funding for the new contract.Vote in favor of funding the Nashua teachers\' contract, and show that you value our city\'s schools and educators. Your vote will represent your commitment to Nashua\'s future.
Thank you.
The momentum behind this petition has grown significantly over the past few days. This surge of interest demonstrates that our community recognizes the importance of compensating our teachers fairly. I appreciate the dedication shown by everyone who has lent their name to this cause.

Ridiculous. My kids have had the same teachers for years and they work their tails off. Pay them already!

This is just sad. Nashua is going to lose all the best talent if we stay stuck in 2006. Get it done for the kids sake.
