I am a local business owner and absolutely love the monkland festival ! I receive good revenue and great exposure !!! All the families come out and support this great event.

I think this is a great addition to our beautiful city, brings people to the beautiful area of monkland/ncg with history & beautiful architecture. I love these festivals, &I come all the way from the West Island!

This is a wonderful event that we attend every year. A great way to celebrate summer.

I am all for holding these wonderful events. Brings the community together to celebrate a wonderful weekend. Don't let this end.!

To get rid of something that has brought so much joy to a community and anyone who goes to the event would be a disgrace. We have just so much summertime to enjoy, that any and all activities are welcomed with open arms. Kids, parents, couples, single people & local shops this event. So why take it away???? Just makes no sens!!!!

I love the Monkland Festivals!

Just want to put this out there, attended the meeting tonight at the NDG culture center - which was to hear the citizen’s / business owners of Monkland area regarding the “Flavours of Monkland” festival coming up August 19 to the 21st….. probably around 100 “citizens” showed up - approximately a dozen went up to the mic and voiced their “disapproval / anger” at the Monkland festivals held twice a year – for 3 days – bringing in business to local establishments – giving them additional exposures – and perhaps future business……. What totally stunned me was that none of them recognized what these festivals do for our area – how we have developed into a known community throughout Montreal – a very recognized and well liked area to establish your living…… I waited to be the last one to approach the mic and proudly represented all the “positive” absent citizens/ shop owners – and expressed my gratitude to Monkland Festival organizers for giving us the opportunity to have our non-profit- charity organization : The Einick Gitelman Fund – who for the past 2 years have been given a the opportunity to run “The Kid Zone” at the same time promoting and raising funds – that we give back to the NDG community by giving back to NDG Minor Hockey to assist families for their hockey fees and to NDG Food Depot…… …so if you agree – please share your appreciation, your gratitude and your concern that we want to continue to have our yearly Monkland festivals…… send messages to your “acquaintances “ in the borough…. Do not stay silent……. We are the people of NDG and we believe in our community and want it to remain what it stands for……

This past spring when we decided to open the second location of our home renovation company; "The Monkland Village" was by far our first choice. This was the community that our family run business wanted to put roots down in and the street festival was our first opportunity to meet our new neighbours. We decided to hire a few students for the week to hand out free bottles of water, flyers, business cards and invite people inside to see what we do. Throughout the week our showroom was filled with curious people wanting to browse around and ask questions. Without the festival there is no way we would have had the exposure we did during our grand opening. It was great for business and we're excited on moving our showroom outdoors next year!!!
