Jason Maietta recently became a parent, as many of us do in our lifetime.  We all hope to be there for our children for their milestones, their highs and lows, and to teach them right from wrong. Unfortunately, the breakdown of the relationship between Jason and the mother, has thus far unfairly excluded him from taking part in his son's life. In the last 6 weeks since his son left the hospital, the mother has only allowed Jason to spend a total of 7 hours with his son.

Jason Maietta has been a Community Recreation Leader, employed by the same municipality for the past 15 years. He is in charge of creating and running community programs such as summer camps, sports leagues and public events. Jason also has been coaching Junior Varsity Basketball at the local High School for the last 2 seasons, and has been invited back to coach a third.

Jason has been recognized by his peers and has won many awards for his community work such as Dutchess County Youth Worker of 2009, The Top 40 Under 40, and Leadership Dutchess 2010.  He is certified in a long list of Child Care Courses that includes yearly certifications in First Aid and Infant/Child/Adult CPR.

This is the sad reality, he improves the lives of children on a daily basis yet cannot see he own.

Jason is facing a long and arduous court battle in a state that weighs heavily on the mother's side.  Please show your support for Jason and his son, Declan.  Ensure the Judge realizes that Jason is more experienced with children than most new dads and he deserves equal time and rights to forge a positive and lasting relationship with the child he loves so much.
