Every woman deserves to have the opportunity to have the birth they want. According to the Rosie's policy VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Caesarean Section) mums are too high risk of utrine rupitre to use the Birth Centre (all 0.2% higher, compared to a first time mother). This has resulted in some VBAC Mamas being forced to into their second choice (consultant led unit or home) for the birth of their baby, even when its not in the Mother's or baby's best interests.

Research shows Mothers will labour more effectively, with less complications and therefore less of an impact on baby too, when she feels relaxed and safe.
In fact, no one has been able to provide VBAC mothers with any medical justification for the rules - and by supporting homebirth they admit that the policy is not based on patient safety. Given the laudable NHS aims of individualised, women-centered maternity care, it's about time the Rosie management started respecting parents' right to make informed decisions about where they give birth.
