Research shows Mothers will labour more effectively, with less complications and therefore less of an impact on baby too, when she feels relaxed and safe.
In fact, no one has been able to provide VBAC mothers with any medical justification for the rules - and by supporting homebirth they admit that the policy is not based on patient safety. Given the laudable NHS aims of individualised, women-centered maternity care, it's about time the Rosie management started respecting parents' right to make informed decisions about where they give birth.

I honestly thought I was shouting into the void when I started this but seeing all these people showing up is just wild to me. It is clear that so many of us are just tired of being told no without any real reason so my brain is honestly buzzing with what we could actually pull off here if we keep this fire going.

I had 2 VBACs and strongly agree with this petition. I was not happy with all the rules and restrictions that were placed on me (especially second time around) and believe my birth exoerience could've been a much better one if the environment was different.
We need ALL VBAC women to be given access to ALL midwife led units in the UK. All VBAC women need to make informed choices about place of birth that is right for them, which means choice of hospital, birth unit or home. NICE guidelines state that VBAC work should be treated NO differently from any other first time mothers.
Labour's without stress tend to go smoother. Forcing those who want to birth in the midwife unit into the more clinical situation of the consultant led unit will only hinder a vbac, potentially leading to another unwanted c section and the emotional fall out that may bring. It's not like the two units are miles apart should a transfer be required!
I am in this situation and would much prefer to be in the birth centre but I have been told I'm not allowed. As I still find the idea on the delivery unit emotional as I had a emergency c section .
Having had the privilege of supporting a mum (as her Doula) to have her VBAC at the Rosie Birth Centre, and knowing the difficult but worthwhile process she had to experience to do so, I completely back this brilliant movement.

Equal rights for all pregnant women! Calling a lady trying for a vbac "high risk" when the evidence shows only an increase of 0.2% is incomprehensible!! High risk is over 90%, 9 out of 10, not 1 in 500!! It's blatant discrimination. Get real, we are educated women who can think for themselves not stupid pre-schoolers
