Coach Oswald is an outstanding individual who coached my son and many of his friends. Thankfully the circle of friends came from many different background's and ethnicities. Coach Oswald was always a voice of reason with a very laid back and caring persona. I also taught for 32 years for our district. I'm very sadden that such an amazing and thoughtful coach has been terminated without due process. Shame on you R7.

A piece in the KC Star asked what a petition of close to 1000 residents in favor of Coach Oswald says about a community...Here's what it says: Communities like ours back honest men.

Coach O has been a great friend, coach, and mentor to me for as long as I can remember. He’s always treated everyone with the utmost respect. You won’t find anyone with better character, integrity, and compassion. Bottom-line: he’s an A+ person. Show for Coach O on the 23rd!

So sad that one unsubstantiated claim can ruin a man’s spotless reputation without support from the district he has served so well!

I taught with Joe and know him to be a good person, good teacher, in all respects, and mentor to young people. Twenty-nine years he deducted his life to educating young people. Flawless record. Allegations of discrimination are ludicrous.

Coach Joe Oswald is known for his integrity, compassion, and loyalty. This is what makes him an outstanding educator. He holds students accountable, and he makes sure that procedures are followed. At the end of the day, all Coach Joe Oswald wants is to see his students succeed. If that is not enough, then you have done a disservice to one of PLMS' finest.

Joe is a quality individual and teacher. As someone who has used BIST for the last 11 years, what Joe did was correct. There is no other way to look at it. What he did was Absolutely and unequivocally the process we are to use.

Both of my boys were in Coach Oswald’s classes. They are very different children, but Coach Oswald figured out how to reach and encourage each of them. He knew each one as a person, not just a name in the grade book. I hope the district takes a good look at the process and supporting their teachers, in other words what they want teachers to do with students.

Coach O was my 7th grade PE coach. Such a solid guy, could talk to him about anything & he always pushed us to do and be better. It’s a shame anyone would bring any kind of allegations against him - myself as well as anyone in or outside of my graduating class that knows him or had him as a teacher will vouch for my statements. As a millionaire at 21 now, I can accredit a lot of my success financially to him for the foundations he laid rooted in determination, hard work, and maximum effort in anything I do. Much love Coach O, you’ll always have me in your corner no matter how long it’s been since we’ve seen each other!
