Saddened to hear my neighbours oppose this possibility when the city is very much in need of shelters and affordable housing for all

i fully support the opening of this shelter, we are experiencing a housing crisis in this city and we need these beds.

I am a nursing student doing a volunteer placement at the drop in and I think CONC does a wonderful job supporting our neighbours. The drop in is a great place to be and has warm, welcoming spirit. Thanks for organizing a chance for us to show our support!

Given the fact that there is a lack of affordable housing in the city of Toronto which has resulted in the deaths of many during the winter months in the last year, the need to have a shelter or transitional housing in the area is needed more now than ever. Many may wonder why in this area, but many of these individuals facing these unfortunate barriers and circumstances grew up in the Christie and Ossington area and considers it home, therefore, will remain. So instead of having them sleep at the store fronts underneath cardboard boxes or in the parks this is a step up in supporting them in not only having a save space to call home in their community, but will assist them in accomplishing their goals in becoming productive members of the community, in which they call home.

This is the exact kind of initiative that creates the diverse, vibrant, and welcoming communities that Toronto is known for. Keep up the great work!

I currently live across the street from an existing men's hostel run by Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre. It is what sealed the deal on the purchase of my home, knowing this is a community that cares deeply about everyone in it. CONC are incredible neighbours and I fully support their opening of a shelter at 850/854 Bloor. This is a much needed and important resource and I strongly encourage the city to move forward with this proposal.

I strongly support the development of Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre's new shelter on Bloor St. W. As a young professional I want to see community development initiatives that are supportive and inclusive of all our city's residents. Keep fighting the good fight!
