We the undersigned respectfully request that Ku-ring-gai Council, on Sydney's North Shore, DO NOT reinstate the ban on circuses which was recently lifted. We Believe that there is no mistreatment in the training of these animals, and that the living conditions for performing animals not only meets but exceeds basic welfare needs. There is no justification for banning animals circus, one of Australia's oldest art forms.
The current momentum provides the leverage necessary to request a formal meeting with council members. I am now drafting the briefing document that will present these concerns alongside our stated objectives.

Animal circuses and the clever, innovative people who are part of them were a focal point in Australia's history, and still are. I love taking my son to circuses, and animal circuses in particular as he learns so much from the incredible trainers and is inspired in every way by their relationship with their animals.
Don't take that away.

My kids have grown up seeing these shows and they love the animals. Nobody is hurting them, it is just tradition. Keep them coming to our area.

I grew up going to the circus with my parents and I want my grandkids to have the same experience. Its a classic Aussie tradition.

Ridiculous that this is even a debate. Leave the circuses alone and focus on real issues in the community.
