I have been a TA for stressed out pre-med undergrads as long as I've been at UCLA. Being able to send them to this resource has been so helpful for everyone! I would hate to see the quality of this work drop or for the compensation for their intangible work (though they have great stats) to decline.

As a ULCA student who has greatly benefited from prior academic advising, I am frustrated and disappointed by the hypocracy of UCLA’s choice to cut CAM funding. This is a necessary, valuable service that benefits students of all personalities and from all backgrounds. Student advisors should be compensated as such.

As a former coordinator for the CAMs and Trainer for the College I can personally attest to the positive impact the CAMs have on undergraduates and their progress through their careers. The CAM program is also unique in the professional preparation it offers to graduate students whether they pursue tenure-track positions or other administrative positions in higher education. Generations of professors and administrators have benefited from this professional preparation, not to mention countless undergraduates at UCLA and elsewhere. I wholeheartedly support ASE Status for the CAMs.

Recent college graduate in support! I know how it feels to be on the verge of dropping out because of lack of fund and being laid off from a student worker position.
