Silverton school district has been discipling our children for showing their support for breast cancer awareness. Kids are being suspended expelled and other things all because they are standing up for something they believe in. This is not a religious or political statement in any way. Our kids have the freedom of speech and deserve the right to fight for such a serious disease which has effected many of them in one way or another. The word boobies is not a profane, sexual, or inappropriate word any more than breast. Please join my daughter myself and other's to make it ok for our kids to show there support in and out of school. I will be presenting this to the school board next month to show them exactly how many supporters there are.
My daughter is still hurting from the way the school treated her for simply honoring those who fought this disease. I am currently gathering all of your comments to show the board that this is about compassion rather than school policy.

Reaching this level of support reminds me exactly why we started this fight for our children. Seeing so many of you rally behind our students proves that standing up for those affected by breast cancer is something this community deeply values.

Total overreaction by the school. Focus on the real problems instead of bothering kids who just want to support a good cause.
