I was actually booked to work 4 weeks in August, but was recently cancelled after acquiring a 2nd bernese mountain dog. Perhaps housing regulations could be ammended to allow for 2 pets; I am told that there is a 1 pet rule in effect.

Sounds like things have not changed in the 19 years since I developed PTSD as Nurse in charge in un-named Yukon community. My colleague and I phoned Community Nursing about the penultimate threat and were advised to lock the doors, but still respond to emergencies. Really??? The health centre should have been closed. Period.
Blocked at every attempt for reintegration into the workplace. ?Bitter about the system that throws away its nurses? And forces loss of career. You decide

As a community member and EMS volunteer in Haines Junction, I see first hand how hard our nurses work and how much responsibility they take on. I feel strongly that more support is needed from the Yukon Government to allow community nurses a sustainable work-life balance so they can more effectively perform the incredibly important work they do.

No one should have to work under those conditions! Offer incentives, if that is what it takes. Get some relief for those nurses before we lose all community nurses to intolerable working conditions.
