I was at the school Wednesday morning because they made my daughter change out of her jeans in to shorts because of the hoes in her jeans. The shorts were shorter than the hole.

Why are girls getting pulled from classes for their pants? Does this mean RV thinks their education is less valuable than the boys??? Stop promoting rape culture. Stop telling girls it's their fault. Stop saying boys can't control themselves. Because these are the messages you're sending.

Let girls be girls, no one can't ever be themselves if people are banding them on how to wear it, and if your going to do this then you should male boys wear belts with pants pulled up cause honestly that is more inappropriate then leggings, yoga pant and tight fitting jeans.

Boys should be taught that girls should not be looked at sexually but respected for their minds and personalities.

As somebody who graduated from river view I found the rules against leggings absurd. Since I have been in college I have been able to express myself freely without being ashamed of who I am. I think all schools need to stop some of the ridiculous dress codes that limit women .

The clothing that the girls are wearing are what are in style... Why should a girl be made to feel ashamed to wear things that make them look nice and feel good about themselves. Leggings do not reveal any part of the body...
Maybe instead of punishing these girls with all these dress codes people need to start teaching their sons how to behave and act like a gentleman.
For the record I do live in Riverview School District

It's about time to change these rules, they are ridiculous and out dated. I had to deal with these rules years ago with my daughter.

I'm the father of two girls who attend RVJHS and I am appalled at the blatantly sexist attitude conveyed by the dress code and the alleged reasons behind its
"necessity"! You have my support!

Disgusting that a school is sexulizing prepubescent girls. Shoulders and tight pants don't distract boys and if they do than the boys should be held accountable for their grotesque behavior.

Instead of teaching young girls to "cover up" how about we teach young men that women are MORE THAN SOMETHING TO LOOK AT.

Mother of a RVJH daughter here. Distractions are everywhere. Pointing the finger and blame at teenage girls because their clothing is a 'distraction' is taking away from the issue at hand!
