Hi I am encouraging to allow providers prescribe medication to people who are deaf and hard of hearing! Things will be better and a lot easier for everyone!

Allowing psychologists the opportunity to join other allied heath care providers in Washington and other states to prescribe medication after extensive additional education and training will give Washington State another tool to combat the mental health crisis our State and nation face.

This bill will potentially increase access to the rural and frontier regions of Washington where they are already a medically underserved population.

I support this bill and the expansion of prescribing authority to psychologists with additional training in this area. This will be greatly beneficial to increase access to services, especially for those who are more marginalized in our state. Wait times for psychopharm prescribers are out of control and people need help now!

I am a Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee in Washington State. I support this legislation because it is very difficult for the d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing - many whom are on Medicaid and Medicare - to access mental and behavioral care they need, including appropriate medication and guidance in their use. This legislation will support greater access to culturally competent providers who can prescribe medication for mental and behavioral health in Washington state for all.
