As a mother of two small boys, and an urban planner, I firmly believe that open space and recreation areas are fundamental building blocks to any thriving and sustainably healthy city! Ironically, having just moved from Brooklyn, New York, while we absolutely love living in Towson for many reasons, one thing that we do miss is the open space of the many small and large public parks in NYC. I'd hate to think we'll be losing any more open space here in Towson. Please feel free to call upon me for support with this initiative! Best regards, Gretchen Maneval 347-678-9912

Everyone should forward this to as many friends as possible.
I support Open Space fees to protect the quality of life of Towson residents.

No special pass for Towson development. Enforce open space fees. Balt Co rec facilities are already the worst of the surrounding counties.

Let's do what's right for our children. Enforce all Open Space fees. And fund volunteer supported recreation programs.

What makes Towson such a great place to live is the people who live here. If the county wants Towson to continue to be a desirable place to live they must stop favoring developers over residents and start improving the quality of life for Towson families.

There are many ways to incentivize development and growth. Eliminating green space or chocking off funding for green space shouldn’t be one of them. Our athletic fields are in a serious state of disrepair. I suggest you find another way.

Fair is fair. The developers need to pay the fees to provide adequate open space. And put turf in at THS already!

In addition to much needed green space, why not turn the armory national guard building on Washington St into a community center for additional rec programs such as arts, music, martial arts, language, preschool/youth movement and dance, etc.?

Big fan of development, but those who profit from development should bear some of the burden related to funding open spaces in our community.
