Sexism should have no place in sailing. We are relatively privileged in sailing that physique alone does not win races, after all there is always someone heavier than you on windy days and lighter than you on light days, or has more money. Let's add diversity and compassion and grow the fleet and enjoy the process because it can't be all about winning (or most of us wouldn't attend if it was).

Please allow anyone and everyone who wants to race a Thistle race it. I understand that women face greater challenges and make more sacrifices than men to race. I appreciate Women's Nationals as a way to embrace and celebrate their unique and fantastic contribution to our hobby. Please do not discriminate against someone who has made the intensely difficult decision to try and make their life more liveable. Everyone deserves happiness and to be included in the communities they identify with and rely on. Please be kind.
