We, the undersigned, who are researchers and clinicians involved in the development and dissemination of cognitive-behavioral therapies, support holding the 45th Annual EABCT Congress in Jerusalem as planned. We believe that there is no place to introduce politics into scientific conferences. For centuries, scientists have attempted to be above the fray of politics to advance knowledge. We do not believe it correct to ask the Program Committee for the 45th annual congress to take a political stand vis a vis Israel's government and its policies. In addition, we believe that every opportunity to advance CBT and to help clinicians, wherever they are, use evidence based practice to improve service delivery and to reduce suffering should be taken. Therefore, we call on representatives of all member associations of EABCT to support their delegate's attending the congress.
The momentum behind this petition proves that our international community prioritizes scientific collaboration above political division. Now is the time to sustain this energy by emailing your professional association delegates to confirm their attendance in Jerusalem. Tell them why keeping our congress focused on evidence based practice remains your top priority.

Science should stay neutral. Keep the congress in Jerusalem where it belongs.

We need this conference to go ahead. So many clinicians are counting on the new research being shared there.

Ridiculous to try and stop a scientific meeting over politics. Keep it professional and let the researchers do their work.
