I fully support the golden chariot for Thaipusam. The silver chariot procession used to be called "Chetty Pusam". Why bring in caste for such an auspicious religious festival. Down with the caste system. Great job done by DCM Prof. Ramasamy.

I dont see the Chettiar community making any nasty comments abt PHEB. In fact, its the other way round. They have always had the same devotions to Thaneermalai Murugan as much as they hv for the Murugan anywhere else. Dear brothers & sisters, Im a Penangite, who has been regularly walking up the Thaneermalai Temple. Do u all knw hw difficult it is for ppl to walk up? All the more whn there are senior citizens. The honourable PHEB board members and the Temple committee members dont walk up, becoz thy hv a pick up truck to take them up. So they dont realize the difficulty. There were also cases of elderly aunties and mothers wth young infants were denied a ride up. Why cant the PHEB look into this more seriously rather than to spend on the cosmetic work like the arch along the way? Pls help to provide transp facilities to help more ppl to vst the Tmpl. Im sure ppl are willing to pay the fare.
I was quite taken aback wth some of the very nasty comments against the chettiars. I hv also been going to the Sivan Tmpl & Murugar Tmpl, thy have nvr sidelined anyone, everybody is treated wth much respect. The prayers start on time. Thy dont gv any importance to any VIPs, simply becoz GOD is the supreme, thy mk sure tht prayr starts on time and dont wait for anyone. Rmbr a true devotee nvr uses harsh words to another. And who are we against? The same supreme Being who resides in the Tmpl of our hearts who comes on His silver chariot once a year to shower His grace☺
