I live in East Nashville and bicycle to and from work on a daily basis, as well as get around via multi-modal transport with my family.

I live on the east side & work part time in Brentwood & would appreciate a way to get to work that doesn't involve screaming at car drivers to not run me over.

Multi-modal study is the first step for the infrastructure improvements.
I hope City of Oak Hill will partner with Metro Nashville to study better options for the future generations.

Oak Hill would benefit so much from being part of an increasingly connected network of bike pathways all across Nashville. If you'll take a moment to go to Google Maps, zoom out to Davidson County, and then turn on the bicycling routes so they are highlighted green, you'll see that there is a "desert" of bike pathways for Oak Hill, and in fact Oak Hill is surrounded by other neighborhoods with them, and more are already on the way. 12 South has them. Brentwood has them. Forest Hills has them. Green Hills has them. Berry Hill has them. Crieve Hall has them. But, Oak Hill has nothing. Establishing dedicated routes along Franklin Pike would be a meaningful a great first step to bringing Oak Hill into an interconnected network that would benefit Oak Hill residents and all who call Davidson County home.

Traffic on Franklin Rd. is just too fast, and shoulders too narrow, to safely mix cycling and cars. Let's do this!

As our region continues to add more jobs and people come to experience the beauty of middle Tennessee, it’s important we create space for everyone. And those spaces should reflect local communities as well as keep them safe. Multi modal transportation options will grow in popularity adding much-needed activity as well as speed and convenience to our daily commutes. A study to see the scope and overall value a multi use path could bring to Oak Hill is a visionary thing to do today in planning for a better, more connected, and safer tomorrow.

It is time to stop building roads that are only suitable for fast cars and trucks and then wondering why people are obese, have lung conditions, die in traffic crashes and feel the need for guns to protect themselves in their own neighborhoods. Multi-modal paths are not weird science, they are how humans evolved to travel. If you truly believe in the power of the people, let them walk. If you truly believe in choice, build infrastructure that actually allows it. If you truly believe in equity, build infrastructure that everyone can use.
