Dear Oak Hill Board of Commissioners,

We respectfully ask you to re-consider your support of the Franklin Pike Multi-modal study. As citizens of our community, we want our elected leadership to advocate for greenway and sidewalk infrastructure improvements in our neighborhoods. Metro Nashville is giving us the opportunity to participate in the conversation about the future of the Franklin Pike corridor, and we do not want to relinquish it.

Safety, health, and connectivity are important to us, and while we are not advocating for the construction of a path, we would like to participate in the study so that we can find out more about this opportunity. The path would connect to the I-440 Greenway, Radnor Lake, Berry Hill, and Brentwood. It received 2-to-1 favorability on the Oak Hill survey, and has received strong support from every elected official representing our district.

We realize that Oak Hill will be required to contribute $60K for the $300K study, and that a directive of the grant will be building-in funding for the path, if the study recommends one. For residents on Franklin Pike, concerned about the impact this may have on them, the MPO has indicated that we can consider alternate routes.

Research indicates that greenways improve property values, safety, and community well-being. Please re-introduce and vote in favor of Oak Hill participation in the Franklin Pike Multi-modal path study.

Thank you!
