The Millan Centre does a lot of very important work in the community with people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to be involved with similar projects. Without centres like these, we risk exposing a lot of vulnerable people to social exclusion and expoitation by others.

The centre is pivotal in the development of this community group. There would be a detrimental effect if it is closed down! I cant even believe that the council have even considered this!

It would be a real shame it this centre closed. Community centres are at the heart of the community and offer essential and vital work that other training providers can't do. The Miillan centre works very closely with vulnerable and hard to reach group of people.

The potential closure of Millan Centre will follow a long list of other closures of vital services in Manningham - two swimming pools used by local schools and particularly Muslim women; the local library halved following the transfer of the one-stop centre into the premises; withdrawal of funding from one local DV refuge and DV Advice service; and now Millan Centre. The Centre plays a vital role in working with women in an area that is one of the poorest in the country and has the worst health and employment outcomes. We must stop this closure.
