The government confirmed the funding will continue and the trauma centre stays open. It has been a long road but I am relieved this essential service remains for our community. Keep watching to ensure they hold true to their word.

Currently, government funding assistance for the Kallangur Minor Trauma Centre is expected to cease in the New Year. This will result in the closure of the urgent care and afterhours treatment room in the Family Practice at Kallangur.

This petition is being conducted to show the Federal Government, particularly the Department of Health, the level of patient and community support for the medical centre. The Minor Trauma Centre has been providing much needed access to urgent (non-emergency) and afterhours medical care for a population base of 200,000 Brisbane North-side residents. Without the Minor Trauma Centre, urgent care patients from this area will be forced to travel to theRedcliffe or Caboolture hospitals, applying greater and unnecessary pressure to the emergency departments.

Please show your support for the Minor Trauma Centre by signing this petition. This will be presented to the Federal Government along with the results of a public opinion survey in the hopes of continuing funding for the this vital healthcare resource.

The sheer number of you backing this cause is heavy to carry but heartening to see. It is exhausting to fight for resources that should be obvious necessities. I am still here and we are continuing this push despite how thin the process has worn us.

a much needed service, we at 13 health refer callers to this service frequently to avoid them having to go to the very busy ED's, that's the whole point.

this centre should stay open as my husband had a severe leg injury and was life threatening and if it was not for the centre having there surgery unit he may not have made it we have used them alot and they benefit the community

It wasn't that long ago that the local member had a link on his Facebook page saying what a great service this is. Closure of this service will only place more pressure on to Emergency Services of Redcliffe and Caboolture. A complete reversal of what Qld Health want to have happen.

As a diabetic I need a centre close to me, with the trauma centre open til late I know help is only 2 mins up the road not 25mins to Redcliffe. Redcliffe Hospital is too far out.

We live very close and haven't needed it yet. But with a child with idiopathic anaphylaxis it's not a if but a when . Hate to think it won't be there when we need it.

Local care desperately needed. Hospitals already overloaded with long wait times and should be for emergency cases only hence the name Emergency Department.
