We need more people like this in our community, not less.

I and my family have known the Grandison family for three years. My overwhelming impression is that they are fantasitc contributors to the community on many levels. Stephen provides much sort after services as a medical practitioner, Sarah tirelessly donates her time to surf life savers local schools adn other public benefits, Ben and Katie are outstanding examples of the next generation we need to have in Australia....smart, talented, caring and with outstanding integrity. It would be an enormous loss for our community and for our country if such an incredibly capible and generous family were not granted permanent residency.

The very best of luck to you all. How ludicrous a system.

I cannot believe the unfairness of the Grandison's situation. Here is a family that has proven to be a worthwhile and valuable contribution to our Australian society and way of life. There are so many people who may not pass the health assessment but with so many blugers now in Australia and many were born here that don't contribute anything to our culture, way of life, always have a hand out and you want to send people out of this country that are looking after themselves and contributing. Noosaville needs qualified doctors - there is a shortage with our ever growing "older" population. Bottom line: show some compassion, some forward thinking and realise we need more of the Grandison's in our population intake.

The Grandison family is an asset to our community. This case should be re-considered in light of the real facts

I believe there are not enough families like the Grandisons in the Noosa district & this community will be much the poor if common sense does no prevail

A family that has much to offer our community...how can the Gov discriminate on the grounds there 'maybe a cost to tax pays' and yet!!?? Think of how many they grant residency too do not have any where near what this family have to offer...bizarre

I think the Grandison family should most definitely be allowed to stay in Australia.

This family obviously contributes more to the community than most average families. It is unjust that they be refused their permanent residency application. Tom is being well cared for by his family and there is no reason to believe that they will not continue to do so. Illegal "refugees"take far more from this country with very few contributing in any way to the benefit of our nation and it's people. Most are takers not givers , and have no intention of assimilating , and as time passes we see the increased crime rate as a result. So the government needs to take a logical and humane approach here in its decision making. There should be no time wasted in granting this family their wish to remain here. Otherwise we will lose out as a community and another country will benefit hugely by welcoming them. Let common sense prevail.

If the parents are employed, law abiding citizens, pay their taxes and want to stay on the coast to raise their children then let them stay and let our community reach out and help them raise their disabled boy. We live in such a wonderful country and this couple want to contribute to society, they want to call Australia home. This is a human being, a child, and sending this family back to the UK would have more negative ramifications in the long run.
