I saw this family's story in the newspaper and believe they should be allowed to stay in Australia.

As a fellow immigrant coming from the UK 17yrs ago I know how devastated I would have been if I had not been able to stay here in Australia. I wish this wonderful family lots of love and support in this. Good luck!

Our immigration policy should reflect compassion rather than discrimination.

A valuable family to our community who contributes so much. Yes of course they should be allowed to stay. The fact that their son has a disability shouldnt come into the equation as far as Im concerned. Someone can become disabled at any stage of their life.

This is a wonderful family that gives so much back to the community, if the Immagration department does not let them stay it is ridiculous with the amount of other people that give nothing to society that get to stay.

This is discrimination against the most vulnerable of people in the world, no matter how IMMI (or any other Government) spins it. If this is all about $'s, then consider that only a relatively small percentage of persons have skills sets that qualify for a 457 visa and choose to move to Australia. Even a smaller percentage of those would have disabled dependants. Why are these figures not presented? Dr Grandison obviously has skills which are valuable, he has contributed from day 1 of his arrival (another country has carried the burden to educate him) and sure he and his family would continue to prosper and contribute to the Australian economy.

Unfair and flawed assessment. Tom's care and medical expenses can be quantified. Many that are allowed to come to this country are assessed at a "point in time" which may not clearly define the financial burden they are likely to impose on the government and as a consequence us, and yet there doesn't seem to be a problem with this.

The Grandison's are a beautiful family that contribute so much to our school and wider community. To deport them would be so unjust.

I know how much of a loss the family, especially Dr Grandison was when they left Ripon in the UK, 3 years on and people still comment that they wish he was still their GP. Why would Austraila want to loose such an asset!

It would be Australia's loss.

It would be an absolute travesty if the Grandison family aren't allowed to stay in Australia. Discrimination of this kind should not be allowed.

The UK lost a very skilled and sought after GP, all of which has been a benefit to the Sunshine Coast for the last 3 years. They are a really caring family who give their time and commitment to the community and ask for nothing in return exempt the right to stay in a country they now know as home.

We need this family, especially a gp who has first hand knowledge and understanding of kids and families struggling with disability.
