It would be a shame to disband the police depart of GF. Their presence is very calming and extremely appreciated. Their dedication to the city is reassuring. I support their independence.

I don't live in the city of Glens Falls but I have worked closely with cops and I know how critical response times can be. Sometimes it is a matter of life or death and losing the GFPD is going to allow for more death than lives. How can someone think that this is a good idea!

I know a little about patrolling the city of Glens Falls having served for 30 years. I can state unequivocally that there is simply no substitute for a dedicated police agency whose members have a stake in their municipality. In the very, very few municipalities in New York State that have tried consolidation every one has regretted it. Glens Falls needs it's own police force.

Nothing beats having your own dedicated police force. The alleged pennies you save isn't worth the potential of not having a patrol show up if the are out of the city. Nothing against the Warren County Sheriff's but, please keep your city PD.

The people of Glens Falls need the protection that they have with the Glens Falls Police Department. The response time is very important and the people will not have that kind of response if the department is done away with. Think about it.

We dont need the sheriffs taking over for our home town police. These cops know this town and know its people. This is a fight I would see taken to a higher power if you change it.....

I support the Glens Falls Police Department, as a retired member I know first hand what it takes to do the job to keep the city a safe place to live, there is more that goes on in the four square miles of Warren County that is known as the City
of Glens Falls. I find it quite interesting that there are city leaders that don't feel that this department isn't worth retaining. It is apparent to me that this is more of a personal vendetta than an attempt to save tax dollars. There are other options to save money, attacking the uniform services shouldn't be an option. If the democrats are ready to throw up their hands in defeat maybe a better option would be too examine abolishing the city and turn the whole thing over to the county.

There needs to be a strong police presence, anything less than having consistent patrolling, not just when there is an emergency call, will be disastrous.

Why should the other citizens of the county pay for police protection in the city of glens falls.
