Petition in support of The Eddy: Beer Garden & Community Space

In full support of the Eddy! What a great way to use this vacant land. I love the idea of having a space that showcases local artwork while giving the community a spot to convene. Well thought out plan Phil and Kurt!

Over the past few years we have seen the MidTown District's growth perpetuate a more thriving and vibrant community due the influx of normal working class citizens. The same is beginning to happen near downtown and the river and this beer garden will only help things along. I am native Reno resident and am thrilled with the new direction our city is going! If anything, the residents of the Artist Lofts should be asking for a project like this as it will only inspire a more normal class of people to dwell in their neighborhood making the river an even safer place to be.

Next summer?

This will be a great asset for Reno.

Jobs / Community / Craft Beer / Music...The Eddy sounds pretty money to me.

It works in many cities I've visited. Come on Reno!

The Eddy will be a great addition to my neighborhood and our community appealing to a demographic that is eclectic and desirable. More importantly it will be a boost to our economy and local commerce. This project will bring jobs and focuses on promoting other local businesses and the arts. Is that not a common goal in our community developments? The residents in the lofts don't seem to have any issues with Wild River Grill and their outdoor bar & dining area/concert venue. Why would this development be a problem?

I support this 100%. Not only will this help stimulate and invigorate an upcoming area, the people involved in this endeavor (and their families), have long been positive contributors to the city of RENO. MOVE FORWARD NOT BACKWARDS!!!

This sounds like a great plan and upgrade for this unusable lot. This is practically one of the only uses this lot could possibly be.

Best use for a totally underutilized space along the most scenic section of the downtown riverwalk.

Kurt Stitser is an incredible human that will make sure this space will make the community a better place.

In a time where communities are begging for uses like this to come to their downtowns, it's time for the City of Reno decision makers to recognize the benefits of a well thought out project like The Eddy. Projects like this are proven to help revitalize downtowns and positively contribute towards the community. Fear mongers think that projects like this just invite drunks and loud noises, when in reality it is the exact opposite. They provide for a community gathering/flex space that gives far more than it detracts. Having been to very similar operations with my young family in both Bend Oregon and Austin Texas, I strongly support The Eddy moving forward. As the community bonds together around the One Truckee River project, The Eddy is a direct reflection of one of their goals to “Promote social, cultural, educational and physical connections between people, place and the Truckee River”.

Continue the progress associated with revitalizing downtown! We need to support The Eddy and other like minded projects.

I think this is a tremendous opportunity to develop a vacant lot and revitalize our downtown area. It will be beneficial to bringing business to the area and thus boosting foot traffic for our riverwalk district
