The bill "H.R. 3531 Creating Access to Rehabilitation for Every Senior (CARES) Act of 2013", is a current piece of legislation which calls for change in Medicare policy. The present policy requires a three day hospital stay before admission to rehabilitation services. An unnecessary and expensive hospital stay would only hinder a senior who may not have acute needs but would benefit from skilled rehabilitation care. The CARES Act of 2013 would retract the required three day hospital stay for all seniors and expedite the process toward proper care. In signing this petition, this bill will be one step closer to becoming the law.
