Why would animal 'activists' try to stop a completely legal and compliant organisation where no animals are being harmed? Smells like class warfare and prejudice against people from different backgrounds than whoever protests. The council shouldn't give way to bullys and therefore support these thugs that appear to have the right to gang up on a perfectly civilised part of society just because they have a different accent. If people who hunted had a different skin colour rather than different accents then all hunt sabs would be jailed for racism. But apparently class discrimination is okay .

Tradition is a vital aspect to the fixture of society, something which we all look to in uncertain and changing times. Don't allow our traditions to be spoiled by aggressively violent people who seek no other means than to cause pain and suffering.

Everyone loves to see the hounds & horses on Boxing Day my family have been going to Boxing Day meets for years. It is a wonderful sight on lewes high street long may it continue!

Keep this Boxing Day tradition alive! It is good to see normal functioning family's on days like this, Leave law abiding folk alone and concentrate on the scrounging work shy no good scum. Hard working good people have really had enough of having the piss took out of us on a daily basis!

I don't like fireworks or torchlit processions, but I wouldn't want it banned from Lewes. It's a tradition that many thousands of people enjoy. The same applies to the Boxing Day Meet.
