This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Having moved to Darien in 1975 when I was 3, I can honestly say we are so fortunate to have real estate investors willing to do this. Incredible!

This is a great project that should be supported. It will keep business that now goes to new Canaan or Westport in our town. It will also make our downtown more walkable, very important in the 21st century.

Ive spent all of my adult life working in a retail shop in Darien. It's a small family run shop in the heart of downtown. Beyond working in retail, I'm also a newly engaged 28 year old who is starting to look at where I would want to set up roots. The retail world is changing and my generation is changing it. Everything you want is a click of a button. What will seperate Darien from the rest, is simply an experience. David has a brilliant vision for this town. It is officially no longer a dream but a nesessity. Darien needs to become an experience. Here I am a 28 engaged female looking for a place to lay down roots. Darien is only on my list for one reason, school system. Here's the thing new cannon, Greenwich, and Westport also have great school systems. And they have excellent shopping, restaurants and farmers markets.... They all can give us a social experience without being in downtown Stamford lol. Why would I want to go to Darien? Why would I buy a house in Darien? My generation is tough, we want what we want, when we want it. If Darien doesn't grow and develop generations will go by and not look at darien as the future. From a retail perspective Darien isn't competing with the surrounding towns. Look at all the empty commercial spaces. Our small businesses are what makes Darien so great. The people truly support us, but if you want to continue to have your small shops, we need more shoppers from outside towns. I am 100% behind David and penny! This change would make me want to live and work in Darien. In my mind the future is now. Let's love our town and give it the makeover it truly deserves.
