Sylmar Stakeholders for an Additional Fire Station and Improved Assets
With only one fire station covering over 90,000 stakeholders in Sylmar and servicing an area of roughly 12 square miles plus neighboring communities, our community recognizes we are underserved and in need of increased emergency LAFD services including an additional fire station to improve emergency response times.
Sylmar's one fire station was established in the 1950s and desperately needs upgrading and expansion to house the fire apparatus and firefighters required to properly serve the area.
LAFD Station 91 assets include only 1 Rescue Ambulance, 1 Engine and 1 Fast Response Vehicle (temporary and limited service days/hours) which may be pulled out of service after April 2 as it was a 6 month trial.
By signing this petition, I am joining my neighbors in
the plea for immediate and substantial additional LAFD
services in my community.
We cannot wait for the many years it would
take for a bond measure to be passed. I join the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City (UFLAC) and the Sylmar Neighborhood Council in
asking for the City of Los Angeles' immediate action to
provide the needed funding and resources to address this public safety emergency.
