Allison has been instrumental in helping our son foster a love of aquatics and learn life-saving swim skills at an early age. I believe that these are vital lessons and help the community in a larger sense by promoting safety, exercise, and social interactivity. I sincerely hope that the City of Sandy Springs will recognize the valuable service that Allison is providing for locals, see that it is in the community’s interest to teach swimming and water safety education, and issue her a business license—as they have over the previous 4 years—and allow her to continue this vital youth education program.

Allison taught my child to swim and hundreds more. She is saving lives teaching children to swim. The technicality of in her house versus on her property is ludicrous. Further you have granted the license for years. There is no reason to turn back now.

Allison is an asset to the Sandy Springs community. Her passion of teaching children life saving techniques has helped so many families including ours. A dwelling typically includes nearby outbuildings, sheds etc. within the curtilage of the property. Why would a swimming pool located right outside her home not be considered “within the dwelling?” Must she put the swimming pool inside her home for it to be considered legal? Even then, she would still be running the same exact business. Allison is mindful & courteous of her neighbors, sending swim families strict instructions on where parking is allowed. This is to make sure she doesn’t disrupt the neighborhood. Shame on you Sandy Springs. By making it hard to obtain a business license for a good cause such as this, you in turn make good people want to become secretive and sorry for seeking your approval in the first place. “Better to ask for forgiveness than for permission.”’

Allison is the BEST swim teacher! I will never forget the summer that she taught our son to learn how to swim when I thought he’d never learn. Thanks to Allison, Daniel LOVES to swim and when it is pool season, we can’t get him out of the pool!
