I agree with this petition. Besides Stanford should prepare a 50 year master plan for its growth and accepted by SC authorities first. All growth should be within this master plan. The way Stanford is expanding now is out of acceptable norms.

Maximum build-out limits should be established prior to any further growth.

The benefits conferred by Stanford University are not the issue. They are extensive and on-going as documented by others. Instead the issue is the amount of growth and its intensity and whether it can be limited and mitigated consistent with available resources and legally confirmed standards. Directly the current approach is "this is our project if there are problems they should be absorbed and accepted by the surrounding area. Case in point more than adequate fire and life safety services...how, from where for how long? Current and effective mitigation of traffic congestion. I should be able to go to the academic area to consult with experts. attend a cultural or athletic event without it being subjected to unplanned and unexpected delays. Stanford needs to implement real solutions not just express them.

Stanford has benefited from a unique gift from another era: The Farm...the responsibility that goes with the planning and management of such a vast swath of land, is formidable and daunting. It has a huge impact on the surrounding communities. The S.C Board of Supervisors has a very real task of overseeing wise and well planned development...Stanford has vast resources and and vision that needs to be considered within a larger context that considers the impact for all on the peninsula. Thank you for your responsible leadership and planning. It is appreciated.

Limits must be put on Stanford. With their continue growth and with them buying up lots of properties in my neighborhood, College Terrace, I feel over run by Stanford. We might need growth, but I must be sustainable and slow. Quality of life is a stake has been compromised and unfortunately it can't be remade. Please STOP Stanford's uncontrollable growth, I'm chocking!

Stanford does many wonderful things for our area and economy. This does not preclude that it has and will continue overstep it's welcome. Look what it did on Sandhill Rd without informing Menlo Park Planning! We do NOT NEED another 2 1/2 times more of shopping centers in this very small and compact 1.5 square miles. Thanks

These principles will enable Stanford to be a big part of the solution rather than exacerbating the problems of overcrowding facing our area.

During the Sand Hill Road expansion Stanford received permission to expand by over 2 million sq feet, narrowly defeating a voter initiative to block the project. At what point will this expansion stop?

Some of Stanford's development funding should go into local and regional mass transit, including rail.

Stanford is out of control and breaching Leland’s intent of preserving natural spaces for the community. They are money hungry at any cost. Must be curtailed.

As a neighbor of 41, I'm keenly aware of the ongoing development on and off the Stanford Campus, as well as a participant in the many cultural and educational events and opportunities offered to the community. A balance of growth and development, with sustainability and consideration of future generations to come, is essential to the well being of our community.

While I am grateful for the many contributions Stanford makes to our community, I oppose unfettered growth.

I live near Stanford but did not get to vote on their projects because I am across the border. Yet people who live miles away make decisions that impact me. The traffic has gotten out of control. It is like rush hour most of the day. I view Stanford as a cancer, characterized by uncontrolled, harmful growth.

All new development should be sustainably done, regardless of who is the developer or owner. For Stanford, preserving the Stanford Foothills as permanent open space is an important contribution to sustainability. Drawing down CO2 can be a net money saver so Stanford should be on board with that too (refer to http://www.drawdown.org/).

This area has prided its careful, thoughtful, sustainable growth which added to Stanford's allure; a gem in an oases. Please do not run roughshod over this oasis or the people who live there, who support Stanford, whether or not they are of Stanford.

If you build more housing , traffic will be lighter because people won't have to travel to work/school. Housing for people who don't own cars should be prioritized.

Adding intensity will cause more expense when sewage treatment needs to be expanded, more air pollution will raise death rates. Stop assuming unlimited human population growth as a justification for more pollution. Listen to your own Stanford Population research department.
