Shame on Stanford for not wanting to be a good neighbor and support local schools where its new residents' children will be attending! Any housing Stanford builds should carry a requirement for normal school funding/taxes, just like anyone else who lives in the area!

Stanford must also bear its share of additional public infrastructure costs, including elementary/high schools, fire protection, utilities (such as water and waste) and animal services.

Left unchecked, Stanford will develop beyond the capacity that the community infrastructure can handle. I support any oversight that will ensure that University growth has been adequately vetted such that Palo Alto and Menlo Park do not become dwarfed and strangled by more Arrillaga buildings.

As a Stanford alum (PhD Physics '65) and former Palo Alto resident, I must state the obvious. Stanford, or any other social entity, cannot continue expansion indefinitely. Growth must eventually hit absolute limits imposed by physical reality, at which point, of necessity, growth will top out, stop, and perhaps even recede. However, if growth proceeds to that extreme point, the impact on the surrounding community and environment will be entirely unacceptable. Therefore, it makes sense that growth limits be adopted which stop growth at level where the quality of the surrounding community is not sacrificed.
However, care and creativity must be exercised in devising such limits, so that they both preserve the quality of the host community and allow Stanford to continue in its role as a world-class institution. I'm sure that it is possible for Stanford and the host community to arrive at agreement on the nature of such limits and urge all participants in this issue to seek such an outcome with good faith.

The Transportation measurement needs to be broadened as "peak" is shifting to become a broad part of the day. Measurement of parking should be done by a third party and include offsite parking in Palo Alto neighborhoods.
The housing imbalance in the proposed GUP is quite severe and needs to include more housing on campus for staff

I live very close to the Stanford campus, in Palo Alto, and it matters a great deal to me what they do both on their land AND with and for all the people who travel to it. Stanford needs to apply the 7th generation principle so sensibly used by several Native American tribes for ages before we "white men" came here and messed things up. Stanford also needs to consider very thoroughly their impact on us neighbors.
