I played softball all through high school in Maryland and we girls had our own softball field. This was way back in 1980 so why, in this day and age, must these girls have to have anything less than their male counterparts.

I played jv ball for Shenandoah and managed under Tater Myers in the last 90s. We drove to fields and walked sometimes. We discussed a lot that the boys already had the best new uniforms every year and we had to reuse ours. It's time for the girls to have the same luxuries as the boys.

I've been a softball mom for years and it has always saddened me that softball isnt a "priority" like many of the other sports are. How can you build a school without a field when JWHS (oldest in the county) and MHS (the newest) both have fields?!? "There aren't enough funds" I just don't buy. Softball is an awesome sport and shouldn't be made to take the backseat like it has been for so many years. Come on Frederick Co.! Give these girls the field they deserve to have!!!
