We will continue to monitor the implementation of these changes to ensure our …

We, as parents of school-aged children and/or those who work and live in the Sappington Elementary School district, support this petition which would allow the Missouri Department of Transportation to designate the portion of Gravois Road/HWY 30 in front of Sappington Elementary School as a school zone.

We believe that there is insufficient signage on Gravois Road/HWY 30 to notify drivers that there is an elementary school in that area. We feel unsafe walking along Gravois Road/HWY 30 in front of the school, where speeds regularly exceed the posted 40 MPH limit. We are concerned with the increasing volume and speed of traffic along Gravois Road/HWY 30 and feel Sappington is losing a battle to ever be a residential and walking-friendly community.

We support this petition to achieve the following results:

*To slow down traffic in front of Sappington Elementary School.

*To raise awareness and promote safer access to school grounds.

*To maintain and enhance Sappington's walkability.

Please sign this petition to show support for our community!

I am glad my kids didnt go to this school! I didnt realize that it wasnt a designated school zone with lowered speed. In Crestwood we will get ticketed if we dont slow down for the blinking yellow light. This is really dangerous....for Sappington children and parents!

We live across the street from the school and it is always dangerous to cross Gravois for class parties and other events. It seems silly to drive across town to catch a shuttle because there is limited parking, to take my family across the street. I have felt for a long time that this situation needs a safe resolution.

The lack of traffic control at the entrance to this school cost my family a car which was a total loss and injury to my wife.

I think it is ridiculous that there isn't a school zone at Sappington Elementary. I also wish there was a crossing guard or a time-appropriate stop light like at some of the other schools. Crossing Gravois is very dangerous.

We live right across for Sappington elementary . It is very difficult sometime almost impossible to cross Gravois street to get to the school. It is sad that I have to drive my son to school or put him on school bus because you can walk or cross the street due to high trafic and high speed limit

This is very unsafe for our kids. I never understood why this was not automatically done, there are school zones on less busy roads with police patrolling.

I used to go to this school and I still pass by this school constantly. There needs to be stricter regulations regarding the speed limits around the school. Some kids don't ride the bus or ride the car home some people walk home with their kids it's not safe! People need to really slow down there has to be something done. One day, God forbid something will happen because of how fast people are able to drive past the school. Before and after school is when it is most dangerous for kids who go to Sappington...
