Rockhill House is a national treasure and a potential to draw tourism to Donegal and it is a disgrace that it is being left to ruin. We must act now before the house falls into complete disrepair.

If the government don't want the expense of refurbishing and running Rockhill house then they shoul let someone like Adrian sign a contract to take over, refurbish and run the place like a business for 5-10 years at least to see if it is a worthy venture and if not he can hand it back to the government free of any outstanding debts of coarse. Good luck with it Adrian, I hope the red tape doesn't hold things up until it is too late for the place!

Rockhill House has fond memories for me. I worked in Rockhill throughout my working life. The day I marched out of the barracks for the last time I knew the house would not be respected or maintained into the future. The same situation was seen at Dunree Fort when it was sold for next to nothing. I am delighted that there is now such an initiative to save Rockhill and to use it for something worthwhile. Well done and you have my total support.

It is so easy to demolish 'old buildings' - this is part of Irish history, do the right thing and preserve it and allow the community to use it.

It would be a shame if Alan Shatter TD was to be seen as the person responsible for the dilapidation of Rockhill House through ignoring his responsibility and not transferring it to Donegal County Council at the earliest possible time.

I visited the Rockhill House in 2007 from the US. I would like it to still be there when I visit again!
