Our lovely old streets that make Ramsey Hill an attractive place to visit, do business, and own homes, will no longer be attractive if they cannot be navigated in snowy months or in an emergency. Access and safety can co-exist with one-side parking.

For emergency vehicle access; fire fighting vehicles and ambulances it is essential we do NOT allow 2 sided parking.

An effort is being made by local business owners to allow parking on both sides of our streets in the neighborhood bordered by Marshall and Summit Avenue and between Dale Street and John Ireland Boulevard. We love our local businesses, but adding cars to both sides our our streets creates problems. We want to work with the businesses to find a real solution.

I am very much against this idea, as those streets in the neighborhood (such as Mackubin) are already way too crowded with two sided parking. They basically turn into one lane streets in the wintertime, which is not safe or convenient for anyone.

Arundel is a classic example of why 2 side of street parking doesn't work. why is anyone even thinking of 2 side of street parking except if it is for the real estate developer or the restaurant owner?? The financial benefit for a few seems to be put before the residents which count to many many more than the people with a vested financial only interest. We LIV

There is absolutely NO WAY a garbage or recycling truck could service our alley (which includes multiple businesses and multi-unit apartment buildings and condominiums) if there was parking allowed on both sides of the street. Because of the historic nature of the streets and alleys, the large number of pedestrians, and the ample public transportation options currently available, i feel that allowing parking on both sides of the street does not grow this neighborhood in ways that are benefical for those living and visiting our community.

There are many speeding cars in this Neighborhoods. Two sided parking would represent increased danger to our kids, bikers, and peds.

Parking on the second side of the street is not an attractive solution, especially considering there are virtually empty parking lots near the Selby - Western area, which is the most congested area during dinner hours that our beloved business neighbors are working so hard to address. In addition to the other reasons cited for not allowed parking on both sides, there would be no place to move cars during snow emergencies either.
