As new owners of property at 405 Wabash, my wife and I have serious concerns with respect to our safety, our guests safety, as well as the other residents safety. Most notably, the construction of another building in such close proximity to the entrance/exit of our building, we find it reprehensible that the departments of the city that are responsible for approving this structure as well as protecting the inhabitants of the proposed building and owners of River Plaza, would jeopardize the financial solvency of the city of Chicago as a result of lawsuits, if a catastrophe were to happen. Add to this, the request for valet service for a restaurant under construction, puts the entrance/exit of River Plaza in a very vulnerable position. I would guess that if these two proposed projects were allowed to proceed, insurance carriers for those effected would be hesitant to continue coverage.

I oppose both the construction of the 403 N. Wabash condo and Beacon Tavern's request to operate a valet service.

I am against both these projects. Recent reports that have been commissioned on both projects reflect dire safety issues to the residents of our building.

I oppose valet parking in our driveway, leaving us too vulnerable in an emergency. I oppose the proposed 16-story building for the same reason

The driveway cannot possibly handle these projects. It gets congested as is. Safety must be our top priority.

The use of our circular driveway for valet use by a restaurant jeopardizes our safety as residents and places added pressure on our door staff and security.
The 16- story condo building places our residents in grave danger and should be objected to and canceled immediately. Certainly as a resident I do not want to live in fear in my home.

I am very concerned about the negative effect these two projects will have on the residents of 405 and appreciate the efforts of the Board to advocate on our behalves.

Valet parking where? - not in the turnaround which is abused as it is - and what about the doorman - they have a hard job as it is - who are these people who have such a disregard for the residents and workers in this building !

I believe both of these projects will seriously impact the quality of life in a very negative way for the residents of River Plaza. They pose many safety risks as well and significantly increase congestion in a densely populated area.

I await the results of the contracted experts. Above all, the safety of the residents of the existing building should take precedent over the desires of for-profit projects/developers. However, we should also not just have a knee-jerk reaction without considering the studies that are currently in progress. Thanks to the Board for working on our behalf.

We are strongly opposed to these projects. I've been receiving the monthly garage reports and have serious doubts as to whether our garage can support the weight of the proposed condominium. Both projects will seriously compromise access to our building by the fire department, visitors, and us. Two votes against the projects.

It's ridiculous that a building would even be considered over a parcel of land that small. Then to top it off, the Beacon tavern wants to use our turnaround for valet parking? Imagine the foot traffic from that business. More people standing in our lobby. Using our door staff to assist them. Are the firemen and paramedics going to be able to respond to emergencies with all the congestion? If anyone dies as a result of a delayed response from emergency workers, the developer should be sued or anyone else involved with approving this fiasco. As you can see I am oppose to both projects !

I think at this point the building is all but a forgone conclusion. I am totally against both having the valet and the new building being built. The building is too close and the area too congested as is. I honestly do not see how they are going to build the building without closing the circle drive.

a valet parking should not be allowed!
If the parking garage belongs to 405 N Wabash, how can they build on top of its garage:-)

I agree with the concerns about the new building so close to river plaza and I am against the valet parking for the tavern
