Support Quality Public Education through School Choice

It is difficult to understand why the larger school systems, like SD Unified, would not support charter schools to provide parents a choice and a diverse education opportunity and relieve some of the class sizes and improve education. Charter schools provide better test scores and experiences. I am frustrated that California K-12 school national ranking has fallen to almost last place, yet our legislature is hostile to charters with better scores. Especially when so many teachers/legislatures send their kids to private schools. Why do so many counter productive ideas get passed into law when school choice has repeatedly worked? I will be vote for more school choices for students and parents and against those who limit it. Thanks.

Parents should be able to choose the education path that works best for their children. Public Charter schools work, that is why parents choose them. If our charter school closed we would not got back to public school.

This is a good idea

I was so worried about my nephew growing up in the public school system. I was worried about bullying etc. I see him at his Charter school learning communication skills especially to get through conflict, confidence, and getting a great education. I can't imagine him not having the opportunity to attend this school.

I am a former school teacher in the public school system. I loved teaching at my school and I loved my students. However, I have seen my grandchildren flourish since being given the choice to attend a charter school. I honestly believe they would have never grown the way they have in the crowded public system that does not focus on individualized learning.

Children to have the choice to have individualized learning. Public schools are extremely crowded as it is, why would we take the choice away and crowd the schools even more?

We left our local school for a homeschool charter as they refused to help my child with dyslexia and dyscalculia. If our charter were to close, we wouldn’t go back

In support of parental choice.

Please. School choice shouldn't even be an issue. As parents, we should be able to decide the best way to educate our children. A traditional environment doesn't work for all children.

Yay for Online Charters!

I have seen the positive difference Charter schools make for students. The public schools are not equipped to provide the individual method of helping students learn most of the basic skills needed to survive in todays world. There was perhaps, a time in history when "book learning" was adequate, but NOT TODAY. Young minds need to be channeled in a way that will benefit THEM (the student) and not a financial advantage for the school system. CHARTER SCHOOLS have proven to be the ANSWER. Please do not cheat our young people by eliminating a teaching system that WORKS for so many. Thank You and Please make the only smart choice that will benefit our children, remember they are our Future . . . KEEP CHARTER SCHOOLS OPEN . . . . Mrs. Dahlberg

Please support charter schools that allow students to learn the way that works for them, that gives more flexibility to kids who may ave exceptional talents that need to be nurtured at an early age and flexible learning schedules and help families give their kids experiences they may not otherwise be able to afford.

Please leave the charter schools my kid doesn't so well in a regular school
