I would love to see our businesses thrive without fearing reprimand from our government on behalf of individuals who choose not to be forced to oblige these unconstitutional orders.

Hi Laurie,
When Monument began their resolution to reopen did you include or was there any type of formal outreach to the business owners, church’s etc. Something like a written affidavit or strong essays from the businesses, organizations and residents of Monument?
Thanks

Thank you for your response,
I do fully agree with you and the fact that the COVID-19 response appears to be far more about control than “public health”, and is certainly a gross violation of our constitutional rights. I’m hoping to make the meeting on Thursday but generally have long work days in summit. If I can’t make it I will have a friend exchange our contact info.
Thanks Pete

From Lauire Clarke as well:
My response:
The Public outcry and input of residents and businesses was highly evident.
It is predominantly the residents of other counties calling me to ask for help in their communities.
Our Constitution affords all American's the right to peacefully assemble to worship, the right to contract (work), the right to due process of law, the right to assemble for the redress of grievances, the right to attain and use property and the right to consent to be governed by those elected officials that will protect and defend their constitutional rights.
As a Monument Board of Trustee, I fully agreed to provide a resolution that, in my opinion, would put the balance of power back into the hands of the people - where it belongs by Constitutional right - to make decisions for their own lives. This resolution supports the constitutional rights and freedoms of the people to choose independently and decide individually. It also protects the resident's choices in their own health and safety.
Elected officials all took an oath to uphold, defend and protect our Constitution. Elected officials have the obligation to not violate the constitutional rights of the people. The people do have a legal right of recourse in the courts to prevent elected officials from these types of actions against them.
The people give their consent to be governed.
In these matters, the people no longer consent to the continued violation of their constitutional rights.
They have withdrawn their consent to be governed in this manner after 11 long months of enduring unsound, non-scientific, illogical government over-reach.
This virus no longer appears to rise to the legal definition required by law to fall under the label of a "pandemic" or a Disaster Declaration. Indeed, with three vaccines readily available, it is no longer considered a disaster by definition. The health and safety of the public is reasonably secure.
Having our economy

Hello Pete. I am happy to speak with you on this.
We are replicating what Monument did and I have been talking to the Board of Trustees there who initiated the resolution there. So the support petition is designed to do exactly that & though not necessary it's a step we decided to take. We have been meeting in person for the last 3 weeks and also hold a phone call. I'm also happy to discuss with you. All gathering places and business can choose to operate as they wish with this and will be under no mandates per this resolution, also legal counsel drew up this resolution with the town of monument. I get the as forceful and all mandates are against our conditional rights and that is what we are standing up for. It sounds like you agree with this. So if a business or church or other gathering place, after this resolution is accepted can then choose to operate as they wish in the town and then will be taken to the county.
12 other counties as of Friday, have already reached out to Laurie Clarke, on the Board of Trustees in monument to speak on how to pass a similar resolution in their counties. I hear your concern however I do not understand it or how fully opening back up as our rights allow us to would harm anything. It's harming us, the masks, the lock down, the limiting businesses etc.. We are also looking inside of this project to increase awareness and the impact of the lockdowns, the masks, the economic impact, all of it. I believe this resolution gives Hope to the residents of Fairplay.

A Few questions
1. Does the creator of this petition have the written consent of a strong majority of Fairplay business owners to proceed as a representative for these businesses?
2. Has the creator/creators of this petition explicitly clarified the difference between the state orders, county orders and the difference of the town councilors orders being instilled?
3. If the article of petition doesn’t have the hearts and minds with written consent of the people directly effected by the proposal, namely the business owner’s , and goes ahead with this petition. There will likely be increased publicity of which may create negative blowback again effecting negatively the businesses involved?
As I understand it from the town council members I have spoken with, they have been more lenient than the state, county and have tried not to be as forceful, leaving it up to the local business how strictly mask orders, etc. are being enforced. If they don’t have a strong majority support of the people most affected, it may go badly, may cause more problems for those already struggling to stay open. From the point raised constitutionally and my observations or it’s aftermath I agree the Covid 19 lockdowns are a complete Disaster. There are plenty of qualified doctors, epidemiologists, journalists and writers, etc. speaking out against the “official” narrative. If the creator of this petition can provide written consent of those they are representing and shows a strong majority support I will sign the petition, without a strong majority support from the business owners directly affected by the lockdowns, then regardless of the constitutional crisis, you don’t have their support which means you do not control the moral/ethical high ground which is equally important in my humble opinion.
I would love to see our businesses thrive without fearing reprimand from our government on behalf of individuals who choose not to be forced to oblige these unconstitutional orders.
