The Chief has always gone above and beyond the call of duty for our community regardless of race, color, creed, religion or monetary situation...this head-hitting expedition from the people who were elected to represent us, not to dictate to us, have failed miserably at doing the bidding of the people and instead have followed personal vendettas. My family and I support the Chief and hope those behind the closed door meetings do the right thing.

When he was hired the HPD and city knew about his past and still hired him. If you want to talk about the past be prepared to talk about your past also. He who has not sinned may cast the first stone.

My son has a kidney disease and has had it for 14 years now. I told Paul how much my son Michael wanted to play football but cannot. Paul invited him to come help set up water wars for the kids back to school community get together knowing it would make Michael feel better. I love Paul Montoya.

Don't know what is going on but toll you tell the truth Chief Montoya has been nothing but a gentlemen, leader, promoter of helping community. Look at the good he's done instead of playing politics and games

I support chief Montoya. Unfortunately the ex chief and policemen where hired by HISD Didn't they check their past employment-thats when HISD decided they needed their own police. Kind of fishy?!?!?

I don't get it. Chief Montoya's been good for this community. I can't imagine anyone of character and self respect, wanting to apply for the job position as Chief of Police, after the way this situation was handled. It's an embarrassment to the City of Hallsville, and the residents who live here.

The school traffic has always been a problem in that area. The school is not taking time to route parents and leaving access for emergency personnel in case of an emergency in the area. The chief has been very active with the community and alway willing to help. This is a poor excuse for letting him go. I hope you reconsider and give him his job back.

Paul Montoya has done a great job as Police Chief!

Back the blue. Sad a no gutted Mayor and Aldermen can't stand up to an over-reaching Superintendent. I read the letter written by him. He actually demanded the Hallsville Chief of Police come to functions of HISD as a visitor only. If the HISD Chief was real police and not just another retired officer, he would have told his boss that police are sworn to duty no matter where they are! Now I am not a citizen of Hallsville city BUT I am a tax paying citizen in the HISD so feel I have a voice here. There aren't many officers out there like Chief Montoya with the patrol experience, tactical experience, command experience and with total community loyalty.

There should be more chief Paul Montoyas in the world! He works hard to show the community what love and support your neighbor means!

This is really stupid!!!! All he did was change a route of traffic and other things and people got bent!!! Hallsville needs change and some people don't like change so they get all bent out of shape!!!

Paul has done so much for the city of Hallsville and has way above and beyond. He doesn't make enough money for all the hours he puts in and all he does.

I support Paul Montoya 100%, Best thing to ever happen to Hallsville.
