Tá géarghá ar phostanna sa ghaeltacht nach mbrúann an bhéarla ar mhuintir na háite. Seo tús maith

Tugaim lán-tacaíocht don achainí seo. In the 2011 Census, data revealed that the 5 Electoral Districts in County Galway with the highest level of unemployment were all Gaeltacht communities in West Connemara. Of these, the ED of Scainimh - covering from Cill Chiaráin to Carna - was the second worst with 45% unemployment. This project should go ahead and let's work to ensure that good, sustainable employment is provided to local people who want to remain in their own area, raise a family if they wish and contribute to the community that they grew up in. Deis mhór atá seo jabanna maithe a éileamh don cheantar agus ugach a thabhairt do dhaoine an fód a seasamh. Níor chaill fear an mhisnigh ariamh.

I’m from the area and would love to see more work in the area it’s because of the lack of work in the area that so many of us have to move abroad I’m hoping that one day the area will build up and that they’ll be work for us to move home to

A chance to allow at least one of Ireland’s rural areas to benefit from the economic rebound.

It is extremely disappointing to hear that someone from the city has objected on the basis that somehow the wild atlantic way has turned the tide of rural decline. Such opinions are highly patronizing and disrespectful if not derisory to rural people for whom there has been little economic recovery over the last few years. Also that such negative opinion should be formed on the basis of a niche interest where this park will serve innovation in the overall marine sector is misinformed and dangerously misleading. As it is we suffer from ongoing immigration, lack of affordable housing, and ongoing lack of quality employment in Connemara all the while as people from outside our locality turn our land in to a vehicle for speculation and trophy homes. We can no longer afford to tolerate this, and I fully support the people of Cill Chiaráin in demanding that this development go ahead to give the area a chance of surviving in to the future.

Tá Iarthar na hÉireann á bhánú le blianta fada ach tá géirchéim anois ann. Ní mór fostaíocht a chur ar fáil i bpobail tuaithe go beo le n-iad a choinneáil ag imeacht. Chuirfeadh Páirc na Mara deiseanna oibre go leor ar fáil leis an úsáid is fearr agus is inbhuanaithe a bhaint as acmhainn thábhachtach na mara.

This is a much better idea than all those enormous second homes being thrown up by rich folk everywhere in connemara.
